Protesting Mohali residents clang utensils during PM Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’
Description
Mohali, December 27 While Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing the nation through his weekly programme, “Mann ki Baat”, a large number of residents gathered in the Phase 3B2 market here to protest against the three farm bills. In a novel way, the residents, who had gathered under the banner of the Sanyukt Kisan Morch, started beating utensils when the Prime Minister started his speech. The protesting residents urged the PM to repeal the three farm laws and resolve the grievances of farmers. Social worker and sports promoter Narinder Singh Kang, Prof Mehar Singh and Amarjit Singh Dhariwal said a large number of people from Mohali district participated in the farmers’ protest. They said Mohali residents, who did not have agricultural land, should keep their conscience alive and criticise the false propaganda of PM Modi. They said the PM, who had termed the protesting farmers as Khalistanis or terrorists, was now inviting farmers to his house to participate in the Kirtan Darbar. Col (retd) GPS Virk, advocate Avtar Singh Sidhu, Mohan Singh and Vineet Verma thanked the people of Haryana for supporting the protesting farmers at the Singhu border. They urged the people to boycott Jio SIM launched by the Ambani’s company and advised people not to damage mobile towers of the company. Instead, they should port their mobile number to other operators.
