These laws will also eliminate the PDS system on which millions are dependent. The laws will intensify unemployment by eliminating permanent employees of the FCI and increasing contractualisation,” said Aman from PSU Lalkaar.The revision of the Essential Commodities Act would increase black marketing of products, resulting in inflation, speakers opined.“Further, speakers criticised the Modi government and the media for labelling the present struggle as fundamentalist and regionalist. Therefore, it is necessary to foil such attempts and exhibit solidarity with the present struggle,” said Manav, a city-based activist.
