According to the police, the complainant, Nitish, said that the suspect, identified as Mohit Kaushal, a resident of Maloya village, was caught while he was stealing a raisin box. The Balongi police have registered a case against unknown persons under Section 346 (wrongful confinement in secret) of the IPC. “The victim was illiterate and his father is a labourer. At present, there is nothing confirmed whether she was abducted or not. The investigation is on. Her mobile phone is switched off,” said the Investigating Officer, Bahadar Singh. TNS
