A vegetable vendor was stabbed with a knife following an argument over the space to sell perishables at the Sector 26 vegetable market on Monday night.The market was shifted to the ISBT, Sector 17, due to the spread of coronavirus in the nearby Bapu Dham Colony. The vegetable market was to return to its original place today, due to which the vendors had started shifting their goods from Sector 17 on Monday night.Sources said the suspects had an argument over a spot that led to a clash.A vendor named Veerpal was stabbed with a knife. He was seriously injured in the attack and was admitted to a hospital. The police were informed about the incident following which they rushed to the spot. The suspects managed to escape from the spot.Sources said the suspects had kept their goods at the spot from where Veerpal used to sell his vegetables before the mandi was shifted to Sector 17.Veerpal’s sister lodged a complaint against Amarpal, Gill, Jatinder and others, all residents of Indira Colony, Mani Majra. An investigation has been initiated into the complaint at the Sector 26 police station. — TNS
