Centre criticised

Congress leaders have criticised the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for saying that it has no data about the death of farmers during the year-long farmers protest on the border in Delhi. Congress leaders P.H. Neeralkeri, Danappa Kabbear and Ishwar Shivalli, who addressed a media conference in Dharwad recently, said that the government has failed in its duty of providing vital information to Parliament. “The government should also maintain data on births and deaths of citizens, which it has failed completely,’’ they said. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the government has no information on farmers who died during the year-long movement. This proves that the government has been negligent about the lives of citizens, he said. He criticised the government for not allowing discussions on farm bills before they were passed and when they were being repealed. “This proves that the BJP government does not follow democratic principles,” he said.
