Description

Our CorrespondentMandi Ahmedgarh/ Raikot/ Payal, October 16A day after Dasehra, following a Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) call, farmer groups associated with various constituents of the SKM burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at various places in the region. The farmers organised motorcycle rallies and raised slogans demanding repeal of the three contentious farm laws, a law that guaranteed maximum support price (MSP) and dismissal of the UP Government for allegedly shielding the accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which four farmers and a journalist were brutally mowed down by the accused, led by Ashish Mishra, son of Union State Minister Ajay Mishra, a fortnight ago.Addressing rallies at Dehlon Chowk on Ludhiana-Malerkotla Road, Hari Singh Nalwa Chowk at Raikot, Toll Plaza Lehra, Bhogiwal village and Ramgarh Sibian, farmer leaders, including Jagdev Singh Kaka (BKU Dakaunda), Charan Singh Noorpura (BKU Ekta Ugrahan), Amandeep Kaur (Janwadi Istri Sabha), Surjit Singh Seelon (Zamhoori Kissan Sabha), Harnek Singh Gujjarwal (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Naujawan Sabha) and Avtar Singh Lasara (Medical Practitioners Association, Punjab) alleged that the alleged adamant attitude of the Union Government towards genuine demands of farmers protesting in the nation had proven beyond doubt that it (government ) was working on instance of its masters in the corporate sector.
