Sonepat, October 18Lakhbir Singh (35) of Tarn Taran, whose semi-naked body was found hanging from an overturned police barricade at Singhu border on Friday morning, was tied at two places by the accused.This was revealed in the police investigation during the interrogation of the four accused — Sarvajeet Singh, Narain Singh, Bhagwant Singh and Govindpreet Singh — in police remand.The SP, Jashandeep Singh Randhawa, said it has come to fore during interrogation that Bhagwant Singh saw Lakhbir running away. He, along with Govindpreet Singh, caught him in the wee hours on Friday 200m away from where he was found.After hearing the noise, scores of Nihangs gathered there and Sarvajeet Singh chopped off his hand there, he added. Then, they tied him to a pole near the main stage, the SP said.After that, they brought him down and Narain Singh chopped off his leg. Then, Govindpreet and Bhagwant dragged him to the rear of the main stage and tied him to a police barricade, the SP said.The four accused have been kept separately. Some 2-3 more accused have been identified, he said. We are trying to nab the abettors and facilitators in the case, the SP added.
