Sonepat, October 17The police produced before court on Sunday the three accused Nihang Sikhs, who reportedly surrendered before the police late on Saturday night in connection with the lynching of Lakhbir Singh of Tarn Taran at the Singhu border on Friday morning.The court sent them on a six-day police remand. Besides, the accused confessed before the court that “they had punished him (Lakhbir Singh) for disrespecting the holy book”.The police team produced the accused, Bhagwant Singh, Govindpreet Singh of Dera Fatehgarh Saheb and Narain Singh of Devidas pura, Amarpur of Punjab, in the court of Civil Judge (Junior Division) Kimmi Singla.The police had filed an application, seeking 14-day remand of the accused.In the court, the police said they had to recover the weapons used in the murder and blood-stained clothes of the accused, which they wore at the time of the crime from Kundli.One accused Sarvajeet Singh of Thithwa village in Gurdaspur district was produced in the court on Saturday and has been sent on seven-day police remand. Now, all four accused will be produced in the court on Friday.
