They said a decision would be taken at a meeting of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) likely to be held at Singhu tomorrow.“My individual opinion doesn’t matter. We will go with the decision of the SKM,” Haryana BKU leader Gurnam Singh Charuni said. Yogendra Yadav echoed the same sentiment.Another leader said Punjab farm leaders were not too keen on participating in the Ellenabad byelection. “We campaigned in West Bengal and met with success. We will do so in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab too. However, a byelection doesn’t change the power equations much and the ruling party generally has the upper hand,” he said, adding that the Haryana unit should be allowed to take a call on the same.
