Rail Roko Highlights: ‘Will make programme for further strategy’, says Tikait

Rail Roko LIVE updates: A six-hour-long rail blockade, called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body for multiple farmers unions, which has been spearheading the anti-farm law agitation since November last year, began at 10am on Monday, and ended at 4pm. The body is demanding the removal of Union minister of state (MoS) for home affairs Ajay Mishra Teni from the Cabinet over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, in which his son Ashish Mishra Teni is the main accused.The SKM has alleged that Ashish Mishra was driving in the vehicle, which mowed down farmers, resulting in the death of as many as eight people, including four farmers, on October 3. The farmers were coming out of a protest against the Centre's three farm laws when two SUVs ran over them.The deceased in the incident also include three BJP workers and a local journalist.However, Ajay Mishra has denied any wrongdoing and claims that his son was not present at the site of the incident when it occurred.Follow all the updates here:Tikait says agitation was ‘fine’, will make programme for ‘further strategy’Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait said on Monday that the 'Rail Roko' agitation was “fine”. “We will make a program for our further strategy,” he told news agency ANI.
