Description
Members of the BKU Ugrahan and Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union today protested in front of the Lehra police station, demanding the arrest of those behind alleged disappearance of two minor girls from Bhai Ki Pashore village.“Both minor girls went missing from the village on August 30. Though the police have registered a case on our complaint, they are not conducting raids to arrest the suspects,” said Dharminder Pashore, BKU Ugrahan Lehra block president. The protesters said if the police failed to arrest the suspects and recover the missing girls over the next two days, they would start an indefinite protest in front of the police station.“We have met the SHO and submitted evidence. But the police are not taking the case seriously. We will start an indefinite protest in front of the Lehra police station if they fail to arrest the suspects and recover the girls in the next two days,” said Pashore.Lehra DSP Baljinder Singh said they had registered a case and were conducting raids to arrest the suspects. “Our teams are raiding suspected hideouts and are trying to arrest the suspects at the earliest,” said the DSP. — TNS
