Sonepat, September 15A 34-year-old farmer of Khanpur Kalan in Sonepat was found dead in his tent at Singhu border on Wednesday. Heart attack is being suspected as the reason behind the farmer’s death.The deceased has been identified as Manoj Sharma of Khanpur Kalan. He was a specially-abled person.He had come to participate in the farmers’ protest at Singhu border around two months ago and was living in a tent near the office of BKU activist Gurnam Singh Charuni.He did not wake up in the morning when his fellow farmers tried to wake him up. They called a doctor who declared him dead. The farmers informed the Kundli police about the farmers’ death.The police reached the spot to inquire into the matter and sent the body for post-mortem examination.Laxmi Narayan, brother-in-law of the deceased, said that Manoj was specially abled since childhood and he owned 2.5 ‘bighas’. He was unmarried. Manoj had been actively participating in the farmers’ protest for a long time and even stayed at Kundli for two months, he added.Inspector Ravi Kumar, SHO, Kundli, said the body was handed over to relatives after the post-mortem examination.
