They also demanded Rs 2 lakh each for those injured.BKU president Gurnam Singh Charuni said, “The police rained lathis on farmers on the SDM’s order. If our demands are not met till September 6, we will gherao the Karnal mini secretariat indefinitely.”Around 10 persons were allegedly injured on Saturday after the police lathicharged a group of farmers disrupting traffic on the highway while heading towards Karnal to protest against a BJP meeting.Charuni said they would request the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, spearheading the agitation against the Centre’s three farm laws, to announce a strict decision as they would not let the farmers be “beaten up mercilessly”.
