MEERUT: A man was shot dead allegedly by his younger brother over a property dispute. The incident took place on Thursday night when the victim Naresh Kumar, 40, was sleeping at his residence in Tikri locality within limits of Doghat police station in the district. The accused brother Devkalyan later surrendered at the local police station and confessed to his crime. Based on complaint of the family, an FIR of murder was registered. According to police, Devkalyan initially struck his brother with a sharp object and later used a country-made pistol to pump bullets into his body. "We have recovered the pistol. The accused is under arrest," Manish Kumar Mishra, Baghpat ASP, said on Friday.
