Will cut power lines to 16 states if demands not met: Tikait

Description

Jaipur: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Saturday, during a media interaction in Bharatpur, threatened to snap the power lines to 16 states if the central government doesn’t fulfill the demands of the farmers. "A party becomes a dictator when it gets full majority in Parliament. It is sad that there is no opposition in our country. The farmers' issue could have been raised in the Parliament strongly had there been an opposition.” Tikait during a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Dausa said the farmers’ agitation will continue for long and a “roadmap for the movement has to be prepared for the next months”. He said, “Next, we have to free the state of Gujarat from the clutches of this (BJP) government”.He said the Centre wants to destroy villages and capture lands of the farmers. He said if the farmers’ movement had not taken place in the country, the central government would have by now introduced a new “seed bill”, to benefit the private companies as the government would decide “what seed should be sown by the farmer”. “If this movement dies down, the government will introduce the seed bill as well and it will become a law as the three farm laws. It is a conspiracy to snatch your land and destroy the villages. The only way out in this situation is ‘andolan’,” said Tikait while addressing the farmers at Pachwara in Dausa district. tnn
