Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal assures farmers all help from government

Description

NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal took to social media on Sunday to say that Delhi government and AAP would provide all necessary help to farmers protesting against the centre’s three new farm laws. Responding to a tweet by farmer leader Naresh Tikait, Kejriwal tweeted, “Nareshji, You people are struggling so much. I will help in every way through my party and my government.” Tikait, who is the national president of Bharatiya Kisan Union, had thanked Kejriwal on Twitter on Saturday. The farmer leader had expressed his gratitude to the CM “for providing basic facilities to the farmers at the site” during the protests at Ghazipur. Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia had visited the Ghazipur border protest site on Friday to check the arrangements made for the protesters by the city government. The government has provided water tankers and toilet facilities near the site. Delhi government has been critical of Centre’s farm laws and has been vocal about its support to the farmers’ protest going on for the last two months.
