Highlights: Security personnel leave Ghazipur protest site

In the aftermath of Republic Day violence in Delhi, security was heightened at Singhu, Ghazipur border as the government deployed additional forces. Agitating farmers have accused the government of trying to intimidate them and feared force could be used to evict them. In Baghpath, Uttar Pradesh protests came to an end with locals alleging use force by police. While the police claimed that the matter was resolved through deliberations and the protesting farmers were sent home on Wednesday night.Also Read | A wall of security around Red Fort as dust of violence settlesThe leaders of 16 opposition parties said that they will boycott President Ram Nath Kovind's address to both House of Parliament over farm laws.Meanwhile, farmers remained firm on their stand that ‘anti-social’ elements orchestrated the violence on Republic Day during the tractor parade. Spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union, Rakesh Tikait on said the violence as "conspiracy to malign the farmer unions and distance Punjab from the rest of the country." He has also accused the Delhi Police of showing negligence during the violence. He succumbed to the antemortem injuries which he received after his tractor turned turtle as seen in the viral video.
