Agri laws not conducive for marginal ryots, says Harish Rao
Description
Hyderabad: Finance minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday said the new farm laws will not be feasible in any manner to Telangana, which has more than 80% marginal farmers. He wondered, “Is it possible for marginal farmers to sell their produce in states like Delhi and Punjab. What if the agri produce is dumped from these states.” He took part in an agitation in Toopran in Medak district as part of the Bharat Bandh. He said though the BJP government at the Centre says that the agri laws are a big boon to farmers, they harm the interests of the farmers. He said the farm laws were passed in a haste without holding a proper discussion in Parliament. He said even Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had responded on the farmers’ protests in India, but not PM Narendra Modi.
