He said the farmers were ready for a long haul and would not call off the agitation till their demands were fulfilled.Case registered for violating normsSuresh Kumar, SHO, Ambala Sadar police station, said the organisers were asked to defer their mahapanchayat but they went ahead with it. So, a case has been registered under Sections 188, 269 and 270 of the IPC and Disaster Management Act against farmer leader Rakesh Tikait and other organisers.Addressing a kisan mazdoor mahapanchayat at Durali village here, Tikait said, “The government has been adopting various tactics to defame farmers. It tried to weaken our agitation on the basis of Punjab and Haryana, big and small farmers, and projecting it as specific to a particular state, but that did not work. It also accused us of stopping the movement of oxygen tankers. Several government representatives have been looting the nation. There is a big scam in wheat procurement too. Traders purchase wheat on cheaper rates from farmers in UP and Bihar and then sell to government agencies on MSP.”Tikait reiterated that the Centre must withdraw the three farm laws and provide a legal guarantee on MSP.
