Jhajjar, April 13A 47-year-old undertrial — Kulwant Singh of Moga district in Punjab — reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the bathroom at district jail in Dulina village here on Tuesday.He had been lodged in jail since April 5 and was an accused in the murder of 61-year-old farmer Hakam Singh of Bathinda (Punjab) at Tikri border on March 25. Hakam was found murdered with his throat slit in the fields.Kulwant allegedly had illicit relations with the ‘bhabhi’ of Hakam Singh and both were involved in the murder. The police arrested them on April 4. Rakesh Kumar, Investigation Officer, said Kulwant had gone to the bathroom in the morning but did not come out. There was no response when another prisoner knocked on the bathroom door. Later, the door was opened and Kulwant was found hanging with a bed sheet, he added.
