Panipat, March 31Protesting farmers showed black flags to Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala during his visit here on Wednesday. He was here to preside over a District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held at the mini-secretariat.Scores of farmers under the banner of the BKU gathered outside the mini-secretariat after getting information about Dushyant’s visit. They raised slogans against the BJP-JJP government and also burnt an effigy of Dushyant.While interacting with mediapersons later, he said, “Everyone has the right to protest in a democracy. The government is ready for talks. The protesting farmers should come forward for talks, as it is the only way to resolve the issue.”He said that the government’s aim was to make the farmers prosperous. The procurement of wheat and mustard would commence tomorrow and six crops were being procured at the MSP in the state. This wheat season, 100 per cent payment to the farmers would be made directly in the bank accounts, he added.
