Two youths from Punjab, who reportedly attempted to loot a jewellery showroom in Bahadurgarh on Monday, had looted Rs 29,000 from a petrol pump in Soldha village here three days ago. Two cases of dacoity and violence had been registered against one of the accused in Punjab as well.The accused — Resham of Faridkot and Ranbir of Moga — had disclosed this during police interrogation. They were in police remand for two days. The police had identified their accomplice as Jagjeet Singh of Moga district and were carrying out raids in Punjab to nab him.“Resham had committed dacoity at a jewellery showroom in Punjab and was involved in a manhandling case. He and two others looted cash from a petrol pump in Sulodha village three days ago. The accused had been participating in the farmers’ agitation at the Tikri border so that no one could suspect them,” said police sources.Meanwhile, the Bahadurgarh Beopar Mandal on Wednesday expressed concern over rising incidents of crime by submitting a memorandum to Bahadurgarh SDM Hitender Sharma.They demanded security for jeweller Sudeep Agarwal, at whose showroom the loot attempt was made. The SDM said their demands would be considered sympathetically and sent to the departments concerned. — TNS
