Description

Tribune News ServiceGhazipur (Ghaziabad), March 11Even as the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has decided to launch a campaign against the BJP in poll-bound states, BKU national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait still hopeful of a positive outcome as far as the repeal of laws is concerned.Tikait, who is on a three-day visit to West Bengal as part of the SKM delegation, will be asking the people to vote against the saffron party.“What can we do if the government is (currently) not talking to us? As farmers we will continue with our protests against the farm laws,” said Tikait, who will be addressing meetings in Kolkata, Nandigram, Singur and Asansol.“We are waiting for the talks to restart,” the BKU leader added.Tikait said the SKM had decided to slash the delegation for talks drastically from 40-odd organisations to nine-member delegation.“They (SKM) have decided to make a small committee to speak to the government. A 40-person delegation is a large group. We (BKU) will also be part of that delegation,” he said. However, while he is open to talks, Tikait is adamant that the SKM will plead with the Bengal voters to vote against the BJP.
