Get ready for next phase of stir: Rakesh Tikait

Abohar/Sriganganagar, Feb 26Claiming that the central government was planning to bring 17 more laws that would affect every class and section, BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait today told the farmers to remain ready for the next phase of the ongoing agitation which had now become people’s movement.“We will have to make the Morcha stronger. Areas in other states, including West Bengal, will also be brought under the ambit of our struggle, he said, addressing a kisan mahapanchayat organised by Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) at the same grain market in Padampur of Sriganganagar where Congress former president Rahul Gandhi held a similar programme a few days ago. Tikait was accorded a warm welcome by locals on his arrival.Movement strong The Centre should not be mistaken that the movement would fizzle out or it could be suppressed by misleading the people. It’s a year of agitations. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha will discuss and decide the next move. Farmers should be ready for the next phase of agitiation,” he said.
