Former IAS and defence officers to spread farm narrative pan-India

Description

Chandigarh, February 9Former IAS and defence officers have decided to take the narrative of the farmers agitating against the three laws pan-India. These officers will now tie up with their counterparts in other states and ask them to support the agitation started by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha.A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting at Kisan Bhawan here this afternoon. The former officers, led by former bureaucrat Kulbir Singh Sidhu, felt due to regional barriers, it was difficult for the masses to understand the issues being raised by farmer leaders from various stages. Thus, it had been decided to translate the address of farm leaders to regional languages. The former officers also discussed the generation of funds for the protesters and decided that former bureaucrats and ex-servicemen would constitute a shallow cabinet to take fast/quick decisions to help farmers. It also decided to reach out to farmers at the Delhi border to bolster their agitation. The meeting discussed the presence of Nihangs at the protest sites. A few members opined that they should not be part of the agitation, while a majority of them felt there shouldn’t be any issue if they were participating in an organised manner. The meeting concluded with the passage of three resolutions — the protesting farmers should not be subjected to human rights violations; the impasse between the farmers and the central government be resolved at the earliest; and no abusive language against anyone be used during the agitation.BKU rally tomorrow
